A Reddit user said he was driving into a parking lot one night to go to a laundromat when he noticed someone walk right behind his vehicle as he was slowly pulling in. At first he did not think much of it. He parked, got out, and started toward the laundromat. Then he realized the same man was now coming straight toward him.

According to the post, the man had both hands buried in his hoodie pockets and kept closing distance. The driver said he immediately told him to stop and that he did not want any trouble. Instead of backing off, the man kept coming. The poster wrote that he changed direction and moved back toward his car, trying to keep space between them, but the man still kept advancing.

That was when he drew. He said he pulled his firearm and gave loud verbal commands for the man to stop. According to the post, the reaction was immediate. The man stopped, turned, and walked away without another word. The driver wrote that the whole thing happened fast, and by the time it was over he was still shaking from how quickly a simple stop at the laundromat had turned into something else.

He said no shots were fired and the man left once the gun came out, but the encounter stuck with him. From the way he told it, the biggest thing was how quickly the warning signs stacked up: the man coming behind the car as he parked, the direct approach in the lot, the hands staying buried in the pockets, and the refusal to stop when told. What started as a normal errand turned into a moment where he believed he had to be ready in case the next few steps came any closer.

What do you think — once a stranger keeps closing on you in a parking lot with his hands in his pockets after you’ve already told him to stop, would that be enough for you to draw too?
